Position Title: Quality Control Technician
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Educational Requirements: College Diploma/Chemistry
Other:
Experience working in Composite manufacturing plants preferred. Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality environment and standards is an asset. Ability to read blue prints, basic shop math and basic geometry is required. The position requires someone with excellent communication skills, can read and write english and is a problem solver. The applicant shall be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Overview:
The Quality Control Technician will perform final inspection of product, which includes, but is not limited to dimensional testing, performance testing and visual inspection. Technician will perform periodic material testing of components including raw and finished material in a lab setting. All results of inspections and testing will be documented.
Specific Responsibilities:
The duties of the Quality Control Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Periodic incoming raw material testing
2. In-process testing
- Hardness (barcol)
- Glass/resin ratio
- Thickness
3. Finished goods testing
- Dimensional
- Performance
- Go/no go
4. New product development
- Assisting team members in the development and testing of new materials and products.
5. Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
6. Active participant in corrective action process.
7. Development and creation of quality documentation.
8. Periodic calibration of testing equipment.
